One of the Initiatives of Imbako Public Health is Sustainable Farming;Agriculture. Imbako has a mission to educate the local community on sustainable, profitable and beneficial farming methods. In April, 2010, Imbako held a Workshop in Kitale, Kenya on Sustainable farming methods, emphasizing on Bee Keeping (Apiculture) and organic farming.

Imbako attended the Black Graduate Student Association meeting, held at the University of South Carolina, College of Health Sciences. Present at the meeting were students from various faculty including but not limited to Law, Pharmacy, Social work, Public health and Political science. Irene Okech, Imbako Director of Healthcare Policy and Finance, briefly shared with the association the potential they (BGSA members) have, to make a positive impact on international communities.

To create awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, Imbako Public Health team members will be participating in the North Fulton- Gwinnett memory walk, the signature Alzheimer’s Association fundraising event. This year, Memory walk, will be held on October, 9th 2010, in Duluth, Georgia. Imbako Public Health will walk the 3 mile walk as TEAM IMBAKO Public Health.
