A Hygiene Promotion and Reproductive Health Workshop

The Jamii Foundation a community organization based in Halifax, Nova Scotia partnered with Imbako Public Health a non-profit organization based in Kenya and USA, to educate students on hygiene promotion and reproductive health. Workshop participants learned about reproductive health in an age appropriate environment, and then were trained on how to create re-usable cloth pads that would allow them to properly manage their monthly periods. All materials were provided for the members to learn how to create, and care for the cloth pads, and each participant had the opportunity to make two cloth pads from start to finish during the workshop sessions.

The workshop which ran from Wednesday February 6th to Friday February 8th enabled the delivery of a series of sessions to various cadres of community members. Over 250 students, community health workers, midwives and community members were educated through the workshop.
